In conclusion....

Ok everyone!  Sorry for the delay, I have been dealing with some miserable hip and back pain. It has been almost impossible to wear the baby in anything but the moby these days.  :-(

I have, however worn baby at least once a day in one of the carriers.  I notice every time that I tend to choose the ERGO.  It really is the most all around awesome carrier for ME, simply because when I am babywearing, I HATE carrying a purse with me.  I find that when I am out, I grab the ERGO simply for the fact that it has the pocket and no other carrier does.  I feel very comfortable using the ERGO, and it rarely hurts me now that I am wearing it up higher on my hips (actually, I will say "waist")  I relly like the BECCO for the ability for rookie back-wearing mamas to switch baby from front to back with ease tho.  And I do think that for toddler carrying, the BOBA will be nice, since it goes up so much higher on baby's back.  I have the original BOBA and to me the straps are stiff.  I wonder if I had the organic, if that would be different??  OH!  One more HUGE thing I forgot to mention!   The straps on the ERGO are able to be detached and crossed in the back (or front for back carry).  Neither of the other carriers allow that, because the straps dont have buckles at the bottoms.  That to me, is very important.

In conclusion: for NOW my carrier of choice is the ERGO with my 5 month old 17 lb baby.  I feel as though the BOBA wasnt given a fair chance though, since Grey is still under the youngest recommended age for use by 7 months.  I Am going to ask my husband to try all of them and see what he says.

Be back with the results from him!

Soft Structured Carrier Review!

As a Birth Doula and Babywearing advocate, as well as a  mommy with back pain and headaches, I want to find the best way to carry my little one with me, without causing stress on my own body.  Im looking to find what works best for a busy mom whose baby wants to be held,  It is important to me to find a carrier that can be used to breastfeed on the go, and something that can be used front or back from infancy to toddlerhood. I would like to avoid bulkiness without giving up comfort and luxury.  The intimacy and closeness of babywearing, is so essential to me and Baby Grey, that I am determined to find the most comfortable, easiest to use, convenient carrier out there!  Follow along with me in my babywearing journey!

I will be reviewing as many soft structured carriers (SSC's) as I can get my hands on...beginning with the Ergo Original, Becco Butterfly, Boba, and WAHM Mei Tei.

Later I will expand my review to include other types of carriers, such as ring slings, pocket slings, moby wrap, baby nest, baby k'tan, and woven wraps.

Please feel free to post any and all questions and comments you have and I will do my best to answer them!

Ok, ready, set, GO!
